PC Game Sales on Epic Games Store Reach $1.09 Billion in 2024

We’re always tracking the latest gaming industry trends, and Epic Games Store has just released its 2024 Year in Review, showcasing impressive growth. The platform reached a major milestone of 295 million users on PC, marking a 25 million increase compared to last year.

Consumer spending on Epic Games Store hit $1.09 billion in 2024, reflecting a 15% increase year-over-year. However, spending on third-party titles declined by 18%, totaling $255 million. Meanwhile, the store’s expansion to Android and iOS in the EU contributed to Epic’s cross-platform accounts growing by 94 million, bringing the total to 898 million users.

Player engagement also saw an uptick, with daily active users rising by 6% to 31.5 million and monthly active users climbing to 67.2 million. In 2024, 1,100 titles were released on the store, slightly fewer than the 1,300 launched in 2023.

The most popular games based on player spending and engagement included Fortnite, Genshin Impact, EA Sports FC 24, Honkai: Star Rail, Destiny 2: The Final Shape, and Alan Wake 2. Additionally, Epic continued its tradition of offering free games, with 89 titles worth $2,229 given away—claimed by 595 million users, an increase from 586 million the previous year.

Epic has also extended its Now on Epic program until January 31, 2026, allowing developers to bring existing games to the platform with 100% revenue retention for the first six months, similar to the Epic First Run initiative.

Looking ahead, Epic has reaffirmed its commitment to mobile expansion, focusing on enhancing app discovery and library management as it continues to grow its catalogue. Stay tuned to GetYourKey for more updates on the latest gaming industry developments and exclusive deals!
